Assignment # 9

Now that you have read all about the myth that I was in, I was thinking that you might want to hear the myth in my words. Ok so heres what happened. Me and Tang Sanzang were tired from a long day of walking. After we came upon a small mountain village we decided to look for somebody who would be willing to have us spend the night in their house. Then we met a man who was willing to make a deal with us. We could stay in his house for the night if we could save his daughter from the monster that was holding her hostage in the basement. So, never to give up on a good bit of fun, I went down to save the girl from the basement. I fought the monster for a long time until he escaped into heaven. Then, not wanting him there either, I pushed him back to the underworld where he belonged. After that the old man was obviously very happy and agreed to let us spend the night at his house. We continued on our way in the morning.

Assignment # 8

Of course, like all of my myths, this one has a conclusion. After being shown where the monster was living and forming a plan I attacked the monster. We fought for a while until I had pushed him all the way back into heaven. Then I fought him out of heaven an eventually pushed him back into the underworld where he belonged. After that I spent the night at the mans house and continued on with my journey the next day. That is how that went.

Assignment # 7

When I was fighting my enemy in the story there was a climax. The climax was probably at the point when I was fighting the monster and he almost had me beat. I was fighting him on the ground and then he grabbed my golden staff. For a little while I thought that he might have had me beat. Then I rolled over and managed to grab back  my staff and then I whooped him all the way back to the underworld.

Assignment #6

In this particular myth about me I think that the conflict was pretty obvious. As usual, I am involved in the conflict. The conflict in this myth was between me and the monster that was holding the girl hostage. It all started with an argument between me and the monster about how he had to let this girl go and leave the house. Then it escalated into a little battle between me and the monster and I ended up chasing him through heaven and, of course, I won the battle.

Assignment # 5

In this myth there are a few characters. Of course there is me, but everybody already knows me so I will continue on to the other characters. First off there is this one guy named Tang Sanzang. He is a Chinese Buddhist monk and I am one of his disciples. He is friendly but we don't really know what he looks like. Then there is the daughter that I saved. She is good looking but and scared. Then there is the owner of the house. We don't know much about his looks but his attitude is very surly until he learns that they can rescue his daughter, than he is very nice and hospitable. Then of course there is the monster. He is just a dark shadow with red eyes. He is very bossy, evil, and thinks that he is very special. those are all the characters in this myth

Assignment # 4

Journey to the west is a book that is all about me. One of my favorite stories in this book about me is in chapter 18 when I saved a girl from an evil monster. I was in a small Chinese town and I needed a place to spend the night. Then I found out that if I could defeat the monster in this old guys house than I could stay the night. This happened in a closet in a house in a small town where the monster was holding the girl hostage. The room was dark and bare with a bed on one side. It was very quiet when nobody was talking, but loud when I was fighting the monster. The room smelled and tasted musty and old. The room was so small that it felt like the walls were closing in on me. Despite all of this though, I still beat the monster and chased it out of there.

Assignment # 3

Aside from being the most powerful monkey in the world I am also kind of famous. There are at least three cultural references that I am referenced in. The first cultural reference that I am in is Japanese television show "Monkey". This TV show lasted from 1978 to 1980 and was about my life. Another cultural reference that I am in is the Monkey King Festival in China that celebrates my existence and I also get some pretty cool free offerings too. The third cultural reference that I am in is the Chinese opera "Monkey: Journey to the West". This is also based on my life and was even used to promote the Beijing olympics back in 2008. Those are three cultural references that I am in.

Assignment # 2

I am happy to say that I have no real responsibilities. I am the king of the monkeys but us monkeys don't really do anything but cause mayhem so that is my only real responsibility. The animal that I am associated with is pretty obviously the monkey, as I am the monkey king. I came from the mountain in china where the rock that I came from was located. I am associated with the ancient Chinese culture. My personality traits are being fun, playful, and mischievous. My friends are the wolves, tigers, leopards, deer, and of course all of the apes. My enemies are all of the gods that I have made angry with my mischievous tricks. My distinguishing symbol is my quarterstaff, which is also my favorite weapon.

Assignment # 1

I am the powerful 孫悟空 or Sun Wukong. I am also known as the Monkey King, but feel free to just call me Monkey. I look, as you may have guessed, like a monkey crossed with a human. I have the same facial features as a human, but they look more monkiesh. I have two arms, two legs, a tail, and I am also very hairy. I am muscular and have reddish hair too. I do not have any family. Instead, I was born from a rock. I have no siblings, parents, or kids. I have many superpowers. Some of them are that I can be very mischievous and deceiving. My one weakness is that I am afraid of death. Otherwise, my life is pretty good.
